I would have anticipated that the prices were going to be less than the Disco we go to frequently, but while there was more selection, the prices were EXACTLY the same on several items we checked- like diapers, coffee, toothpaste, laundry detergent, etc. So. long story short: Géant is great for the selection, but has the same prices as our Supermercado Disco in Pocitos. Géant was on the itinerary for my recon trip, but I didn't have time to make it out there. (I also wasn't sure of exactly how close the DM1 bus would drop me to the store--it looked far on the map, but it's hard to tell!) You mentioned that stuff wasn't cheap--but is that in absolute terms or relative terms? For example, did it seem like it would be cheaper to get a lot of stuff at Géant versus other tiendas in Uruguay? I’m glad that you guys made the trip!
