To date my favorite place in the world is Spain as well. However, I have not been to UY yet. I am following your new life in ROU with GREAT interest. ROU is now at the top of my list for many of the reasons you have listed, so we will be planning a visit there next summer to check things out - UY summer.

I lived in Spain a couple of times (20 + yrs ago) and had visions of retiring there but cost of living in EU will likely prevent that now. Still love the people, place, culture etc. and will be visiting Madrid again in this summer.

Would like to communicate with you directly about similarities between ROU and Spain.

Won't be able to get there permanently for awhile - The company that I work for is based in St. Paul..........looks like I may have to do a tour there before I retire.

Enjoy the ROU - we are envious
