Hi, I know your are not living in Montevideo right now, and I hope you find Bariloche a great place to live. I've been there for vacations and I still find Nahuel Huapi the most beautiful scenaries ever!!!
I came across your blog just recently, and I am reading it from march 2009 when you first move. My family moved to Montevideo last October and we also have 2 dogs, so I kindly ask you for the name of the boarding house that had your dogs for a month. We are planning a trip and I would like to send them to a place with a reference.

Thanks a lot, I am enjoying your blog very much!

Hi Renee,

Thanks for checking out our blog! Keep the questions coming. As for pets (dogs and cats), no quarantine at all. Your mom just needs to get some paperwork/vaccinations completed with her vet in the States about 10 days prior to arrival in UY. It includes some documentation from the USDA that they also have to sign off on. We had a USDA office in our hometown and just needed a quick appointment for approval. We'll add this the list of items to write a post about. There are several things to know. But it all worked out great and it was no trouble getting into UY. They didn't even ask to see the signed original paperwork at customs/immigration.

Thanks again!

Is there a quarantine for pets coming into UY? Or did you decide to ship your babies later? My mom has two dogs and didn't think there was any type of quarantine.

thanks,
